June 10, 2021 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, aromas of canned pears, apple, butterscotch, and white flowers - acacia, with hints of ginger. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium body, 14.3% abv, medium+ intensity with flavors of pears, red apple, and grapefruit with steel notes and a medium finish.

Overall a very good wine with excellent balance and intensity and good complexity and length. Still feels quite youthful as it continues its slow development - drink now or over next 3 years.

August 1, 2020 - My previous note from 3/30/20 applies to this bottle - surprisingly delicious wine from Virginia.

March 30, 2020 - Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, florals - white flowers, honeydew, lemon, and vanilla notes. Palate: Medium bodied, slightly creamy mouth-feel, tart lemon and ripe melon attack, good balance, canned pear notes appear in the back-end. Finish: Lengthy 45-60 seconds dominated by ripe melon, tart lemon, and fresh canned pears. This Shaps Petite Manseng is uniquely tasty, I highly recommend it if your looking for an alternative, but delicious, white.

July 7, 2019 - Note is from memory since I drank this at least 2 or 3 months ago, but I recall this as having excellent concentration and balance, with good dried pineapple, lovely acidity and weight, and handling its alcohol very well. The best of the Virginia Petit Mansengs I have tried.

February 20, 2019 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, meyer lemon, pear, green apple, polished steel, almonds and subtle hints of licorice - complex and interesting. Palate: Medium-bodied, pear, honeydew melon and apple attack, slightly creamy mouth-feel, great balance - acid driven mid-palate lift melds with perfectly ripe pear, melon and green apple up-front flavors, minerals appear in the back-end adding to the flavor party and lingering through a 45-60 second finish.

This is unlike any white wine I've ever tasted. A mix between a Cote de Beaune Chardonnay and a Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc, absolutely wonderful - oh and it's from Virginia!
