January 14, 2020 - 4 hour decant- certainly in prime- first the positives- highly enjoyable and paired well with eggplant parm. However- this is flabby and lacking concentration. Balance is just average. There’s no rush to drink this but it’s not improving.

January 17, 2019 - This was quite harsh on tannin that can't resolve overtime.
Opened 8 hrs before and showing nose of nicely plum/ scented oak / mint, the palate was filled will strong acidity and rough tannin.
Further breathing made the nose muted but got smoother fruit. Time to drink up.

November 15, 2018 - This is a nice mature barnyard Sangiovese. It’s was floral, maybe rose, lilac or violet. Also cinnamon and cocoa. Later lots of olives. I liked this but it may have been injured in the cellar.

September 24, 2018 - Blind tasted. Thought it might havd been a Cab Franc but that didn't fit due to the oak influence. Nose in line with the palate. Sweet sensation but yet acidic with vanilla. Inky, youthful, tobacco and orange peel finish. I was amazed to see the vintage - a tribute to the ageworthiness of San Giovese and the expertise of Gaja. If I were lucky to have any I would wait another 10 years...

June 10, 2018 - Lovely, middle deep ripe colour, soft spices, smooth in the start but becoming less subtle towards the midtaste; in the finish even brusque; maybe due to its age. Still worth tasting!
