  March 4, 2020 - Tasted at the Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. Wines from Mediterranean Islands. Made from 100% nero d'avola, 30 yo vines. 10-14 months in French oak, 6m in bottle. Dark garnet colour. Nose shows morello cherries, earthy, fruit cake. Palate is full, rich, smooth, good tannins. Long finish. It's at perfect maturity now. Excellent.

  Sur la terre, le goudron, les fleurs et les épices.
  Prunes et mures avec de beaux tanins charnus et une finale
  longue et tout en soie, très bon.

  I was told that this is produced from old vines. The wine is thin in color and on the palette. Yet the wine is bold and lively. The flavors are cherry and evident both at the first sip, mid palette and finish. Mild yes but definitely present and put forth within a balanced framework.
