April 19, 2024 - Very good. Just a shade below great. Man, I love Yarra Yerring. Restrained, elegant, good fruit and acid. Not jammy/confected/alcoholic. Seamless. Hint of eucalyptus.

November 22, 2023 - Enjoyed out at dinner. This bottle is in a great drinking window at nearly 20 years. Did not take formal notes, but would echo others notes of blue/black fruits with a touch of earthiness. Tannin structure is nicely incorporated. Overall an excellent, well balanced wine.

June 29, 2023 - Basically a pop and pour, but this smells absolutely incredible. It does smell mature, but very pretty with ripe mature fruit, but also earthy soil tones (dirt), pretty gravely rocks, mushroomy red fruits. Yum. Truly spectacular palate, with incredible red fruits, earthy notes of soil and stones, but integrated with beautiful acidity and lovely red fruits. The acid is so in balance with the fruit. The wine is decadent and vibrant, yet feeling low alcohol and the acid just rips your face off at the end. What a marvelous wine, and a real treat. I need to seek more of this out.

April 6, 2022 - This was a significantly improved showing to previously with a dark crimson colour with some edge redness and a rich nose of dark raspberries, crushed blackcurrants, garnet plums and nice touches of tobacco and cedar. The palate has medium weight and lovely intensity well balanced by persistent fine tannins and savoury touches of cedar and tobacco. A fine bottle of Yarra Cabernet.

June 19, 2021 - Lovely mature wine, far from over the hill.
