November 8, 2020 - Opened and decanted 3+ hours ahead of grilled filet and NYStrip. Dark, murky purple color. Nose brings cherry blossoms, roses, grape hard candy, herbs, and baking spices. The palate is medium-full, round, concentrated, and juicy, bringing an initial high-beam of red cherries, raspberries, and red licorice which cascades into deep, dark blue fruit (plums, rhubarb, blackcurrant, blackberry pie) followed with chocolate, coffee, tobacco, dried leather, and some interesting savory/dark fruit notes on the extend finish. This is light-on-its-feet and supple, but still more to unlock in its core and unwind in the finish. Will be best 2022-2032. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

October 14, 2016 - This is special, red fruited, structured, accessible now, but built for the long haul. Cassis, cardamon, black olive, black cherry, currants, dust, sandalwood, violet, medium body, long finish.
