    August 20, 2020 - Single blind tasting.
    Dark ruby with sediment
Aromatics medium+. Violets, dark rose, plum and black cherry. No oak. Beautiful and dark.
Palate medium+. Acid medium+. Tannins medium+, sandy on the teeth. Alcohol medium. Ripe black cherry.
Finish is balanced with a medium length.
Overall a great example of Aglianico.
Can drink now. I suspect holding it will create even better aromatics though.

August 19, 2020 - Medium/ dark ruby with mild clearing at rim - beautiful wine
Medium plus aromas of red cherry and plum with smoked meat/ floral noted and leather as well as turned earth and dry minerality - very complex
Medium plus palate of red and black fruit with intense flinty minerality
Medium plus sandy tannins on teeth and gums
Medium plus acidity with medium alcohol and really nice length
This wine improved overnight in corked bottle when it gained in texture and the fruit opened up even more
Really nice wine and will make a believer of anyone who doesnt think Aglianico deserves to be a "noble" variety
Can drink now but I think this wine has years ahead of it

March 9, 2018 - Surely not one of these fabric softened, sweet italien reds. Instead a intriguing nose with cool, mineral infused blue fruits. Bone dry and vivid palate, oak well integrated. Real depth and energy here, finely grained tannins not yet fully resolved. A clear proof that Aglianico is one of the very best italian grapes which can produce ageworthy wines full of character.
