  December 21, 2019 - 85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante e 5% Cabernet. Medium garnet. Ripe red cherry, earth, tomato leaf, dried herbs, savory spices, toasted almond, sweet baking spices. Aged six months in barriques and then one year in bottle prior to release. Palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with med acid, med, resolved tannins, med (+) alcohol (actually 14%). Med (+) body, med flavor intensity and length. This is a very nicely balanced wine, which is good by itself or with lighter Tuscan fare. Good to very good. Drink now, not likely to improve with further aging, although it is by no means past its prime. A good value.
