September 22, 2013 - Slow-O 1 hr, served non-blind. Showing expected maturity on the color, nose and palate, but still offering up an acceptable core of sweet plum and cocoa-laced fruits, and pretty (white) floral aromas. Rather mellow now, with moments of purity and grace, but mostly, this is in the midway point of its decline phase. Managed enough fruit and acid (tannins are fully resolved) to pair with a grilled rib eye, but by the third glass even that seemed somewhat challenging. The last of a very enjoyable case. 14,0% abv.

August 12, 2013 - dark and muscular. needs an hour or two to open and right at its prime. Lots of prune and cherry fruit, fine tannins, earth, leather and a delicate and long finish. A wonderful bottle of wine.

January 20, 2013 - Full deep, dried prune and apricot aroma with subtle leather and hints of tobacco. Deep dark cherry and plum fruit flavor on the front with a solid complex flavor foundation that includes a long finish

April 2, 2007 - NobleRottersSydney - Italian night (Alio's, Surry Hills): {cork, 14%, A$40} Powerful aromas of earth and scorched oak. A big brooding wine in a clean modern, almost new-world style, with plenty of ripe black fruit on the palate, along with a fair whack of acid, powerful gritty tannins, a slather of oak and full-bodied weight. The balance just tails off a little on the back palate, perhaps. A big brutal wine, showing only a little development at this age, needs to settle down a bit to provide more enjoyment.
