November 15, 2022 - Similar to last note but gaining some tertiary notes on nose and palate.

September 13, 2021 - Time and again one of my favorite merlots out of Napa. This vintage is 100% merlot. Consulting winemaker is Thomas Rivers Brown. Purple Ruby color. Blew off a bit of funk after 30 minutes of air. Blue and@red fruits, blueberry, pomegranate, strawberry even with baking spices and a hint of barnyard. The palate is smooth and a reasonable divide between old world and new world merlots. Really wonderful to drink right now as it’s lost some baby fat. Maybe in a bit of an awkward phase compared to my last bottle.

April 12, 2020 - One of the best Merlots around. Fantastic. Screw Sideways. This is legit.

January 6, 2019 - Thomas Rivers Brown is founding and now consulting winemaker. 100% Merlot this vintage. Gorgeous bold plum, red and black berries, cinnamon, a touch of vanilla, and brown sugar on the nose. Gorgeous purplish ruby in the glass. Silky texture with medium body and medium tannin with flavors of plum, baking spice, tobacco glide on the palate to a very lengthy finish. Stunning and should improve with more cellaring. This merlot reminds me more of old world merlot than many Cab like offerings out of Napa these days. Excited to revisit the others down the road.
