May 31, 2023 - Lovely nose with stewed and dried cherry, fig and strawberries along with a beautiful sweet tobacco leaf and forest floor leaves. Some mature honey on nose too. On the palate still showing vibrant acidity along with some very soft tannins. Stewed fruit, some dark cherry, fig, potpourri. Lovely, quite prominent pencil shaving and graphite along with smoke and tobacco leaves.

Opened and developed very nicely. Bloomed after 90 mins in open bottle showing even more complexity Inc some coffee and chocolate notes. The vibrant acidity endured and contributed to a long finish.

Very lucky with this bottle - perfect original cork and had clearly been stored very well. Such a treat to enjoy a claret a year older than Singapore!

September 2, 2020 - Elegant, red fruit, raspberries and red currants, hiproses, old drawer; fresh and intense, a bit too slim.

July 17, 2019 - I was in the mood for a 55 year old wine. Unfortunately seepage, low fill and raised cork that I could remove in one piece with my bare hands. Very brown color and cloudy wine. Smelled like sherry with nutty aromas. Taste very acidic, nothing left - not very pleasant. I suspect heat damage... One bottle left, in better condition.

May 14, 2017 - 95 is just an abstract number, since I'm not sure how can you evaluate a wine with such age! For sure it was an unique and extraordinary exeperience! The wine was alive, vivid and rich. Increadible aromas of fresh plums. Presence of tanins were quite clear, giving the wine a mid persistence on the finish. Hard to find words for this experience. Low acidity, but it looks this wine still hold for long!
