December 25, 2022 - 87-88 So dark and dense, barely any development. Built for 15+y cellaring. Needs a load of air.
N: Brooding, dark, rich, baked blackberry, plum skin. Spicy, clove, dried bark, potpourri style, aromatic undertone. Light violet with a big swirl
P: Earthy, leathery, dense. Maybe bresola. Baked plums, poached dark cherry. A peek of blackcurrant jam, but the fruit is not the focus. Baking spices and old arm chair leathery med+ tannins and acid. Lacks lift and vitality. Overdone. Get their pinots or chardonnays instead. -

July 17, 2021 - Darker, fuller, earthier NZ Syrah than I expected. Riper, more extracted than N. Rhône, & without any pepper. Hmm, next bottle in a year or more. Not as impressed as I thought I'd be, particularly after reading Jancis' review. Their Chardonnay, however, is world class.
N: Heady, aromatic baked plum, wild rosemary, mint, deeper barky spices. High notes of violets, white pepper, Kalamata olives, dark cherry, blackcurrant. Complex.
P: Silky but firm. Full- body, high acid, med+ tannins. Not much fruit. Dense and dark. Cooked dark cherry, end of a beef joint in jus, stemmy earthy garrigue. Floral and aromatic.
F: Long, dark fruit -

February 1, 2018 - Same as previous notes. Maybe hold. I'm not impressed at the moment. Possibly Shiraz can take longer to develop depth and flesh. This is too bright for me at the moment. 88+

November 23, 2017 - As before. Bright red garnet. Berryish aspects. Lacking depth and succulence. Cool climate I guess. I'll drink these up - not impressed (their Pinot Noir is far batter). 88+

October 22, 2017 - Similar to previous note. This is too high in acid at the moment and too heavy on bright berry fruits. May need time in bottle to flesh out. I am not going to keep these for 10 years as there are more certain options than these. A tentative 89 points.
