November 15, 2021 - 2/3.
Pale/medium straw. Spicy, grassy, vibrant nose. Medium bodied, quite spicy and fresh on the palate too, gooseberry fruit, decent length finish with a touch of mineral. Drinking well - perhaps another year or two in the tank.
November 15, 2021 - Neil’s Langoa Barton @ Hawksmoor (Hawksmoor, Guildhall): Palest greeny straw. Grassy SB nose. Fresh and zingy. Apparently 50:50 SB:Sem though it doesn’t feel it. Clean and zippy. Not complex but refreshing. Turns out this is consistent with A bottle from the same case three years ago. ***
September 11, 2018 - @ Sexy Fish in London. Refined with citrus and floral notes. Fresh and enjoyable with the Japanese influenced cuisine here...
September 6, 2018 - 1989 Bordeaux at Piccolino (Piccolino, Exchange Square, London): Pale lemon. Zingy, grassy nose, touch of peach as it warms slightly, some weight on the palate, lovely vibrant acidity, nettle notes on the very good length finish.
September 6, 2018 - 1989 Bordeaux @ Piccolino (Piccolino, Liverpool Street Stn, London): Fresh, zingy, slightly grassy SB nose. More rounded and smoother on the palate, mid weight. Peach and melon. Clean finish. Very decent. ***
October 1, 2016 - This starts nicely; there is a certain Semillon apricot at the start, but then it gets a bit too varietal in terms of Sauvignon Blanc.
