June 6, 2017 - This medium yellow/gold wine (100% estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc) sports aromas and flavors of lemon custard, pit fruits, wet stones, oaky vanilla and lemongrass. Medium-bodied and with nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 13.5%), it sets itself up to be a winner but cannot fill the bill by virtue of its slightly overdone oak and lack of verve. The wine's complexity is impressive, but falls short without the the acid backbone that it deserves. Drink now-2020.
