September 2, 2021 - Very appealing nose, herbaceous, verbena, rhubarb, lemon. On the palate, there is some residual sugar. I thought, as a Kabinett, the level would be lower (i.e. dry). The wine is long and fresh. Beautiful. Initially scheduled to be paired with a savory dish, we moved the wine to pair it with cheeses. it was wonderful with a dry goat cheese and a creamy gorgonzola.

March 22, 2020 - Aromatic, sweet, cooked peach, apricot, honey on nose and taste. I taste some petrol notes too. Balanced and harmonious. On the glass, there's a lot of sediments and it's cloudy coming to the last 2 pours of the bottles, wondering it the wine it's filtered or unfiltered?

October 12, 2019 - Still rather young and fresh, quite deep and complex for a Kabinett, nice play between sweetness and acidity.

March 8, 2019 - A very nice Riesling with telltale aromatics and a very nice freshness, almost sparkling. It could have been a bit more complex and the precision could have been a tad higher. But this is drinking nicely today.

TN: Wonderful intense nose and palate displaying golden apple, citrus, lime, wet slate, crushed rocks and some smoke scents. Quite sweet but with a piercing acidity, almost sparkling to keep it well balanced and harmonious. Good length.

Decanting: Not decanted and good from the go.

March 8, 2019 - Tasted blind. What‘s striking from the onset is the amount of sweetness which felt very dominant for a Kabinett. Aromatics were full of lanolin, canned apricot and peach. So dense that it already smells viscous. On the palate the sweetness is balanced by still plenty of acidity. Full texture and mouthfeel. Another example of the amazing transformation Mosel Rieslings undergo during aging. Complexity of the aromatics could be broader, however - especially when compared to the Dr Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese 1993 I had not too long ago. Towards the end I found there was some unwanted CO2 - maybe a bottle issue.

(Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett) Maybe the best Kabinett I have ever had. Petrol, apples, honey, quince and slate on the nose. Hugely complex and detailed nose of utmost precison. Like a pointillist painting. There is a compelling crystaline quality to the palate along with tremendous structure. Great flinty quality on the finish. Outrageous wine. It's got all the parts.
