  August 14, 2018 - This ripe and herbal Cab Franc blend seems a bit disjointed at the moment, so a few years would do it some good. Dark red in color, full in body, nose of blueberry, bell pepper, and baking spices. Tastes of boysenberry, cocoa powder, graphite, and pepper, with a spicy and dusty finish. Blend of 56% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Petit Verdot. 14.8% alcohol. Drink in 2019 or later.
  
  Full disclosure, I don’t tend to enjoy a lot of these Cab Franc blends - ie, I often find them to be too herbal, gamey, peppery, and/or prickly. The Patria aims to overwhelm with fruit, but it still can’t hide the more more rustic aspects of this varietal mix. Some may like this more than I do, but it’s not something I’ll seek out again. 91-92 for now.

  April 7, 2018 - Opened in the bottle for 4-5 hours. Milk chocolate, coffee bean, blackberry, red currant, and dried herbs. Full bodied with high extraction yet hallow in the center and finish. Not tannic or closed off just needing an additional 3-4 years of n bottle.
