August 15, 2023 - I have in the past really enjoyed Blackbird Vineyards and their selection of wines. This might be an off bottle so take the review with this in consideration. Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc and Merlot. Lovely nose, dry, a strong leaning toward plum and dark berries, heavy prune, graphite, forest fern and oak. The alcohol is pronounced. I would never guess it came from Blackbird Vineyards in a blind test. Needs a strong menu to counteract the boldness and heaviness of the wine. Did not improve the 2nd day.
