October 17, 2020 - Rich, overripe, heady, and marred by massive amounts of VA.

Hoping against hope, I kept it around for a few nights to see if it would emerge from the darkness. It stayed consistently awful for three nights before I gave up. When they are on, Accomasso's wines can be stunning. When they are not, they are not. This was a bit of a mess.

November 30, 2019 - This was really nice, especially with some air. It's a big wine with dark color and dense black fruit. Still quite tannic. Great acidic spine keeps it fresh. Lots of upside here.

July 9, 2017 - Massive, dark fruit, almost seems thick in the glass. Creamy mouthfeel, high acidity. Meatiness in both mouth and nose. Seemingly a potential to cellar given the high acidity and fruit concentration as well as the high alcohol.

    May 10, 2017 - With Lorenzo Accomasso

    Pop and poured

Dark berry fruit, dense yet balanced. This is full bodied Barbera that is as structured as many Baroli. That said, it is not heavy and with enough acidity to balance it out. There is focus and clarity even at this large scale. Serious, large framed Barbera that is over 15%, yet without a sense of heat or flab. This is not my favored style of Barbera, but this is done very well and is quite impressive.
