January 21, 2021 - Once you're able to claw your way past the aggressive effervescence, there is ripe and round fruit lurking underneath. I'd actually recommend decanting this for a short period of time just to let it chill out a bit before making the attempt to fully enjoy this Champagne. Otherwise, it's quite the effort to dodge the barrage of bubbles spitting at you for the first half-hour or so. In the end, this was fine and all, but not especially memorable. I liked it ok but was a far cry from loving it.

The Mousse L'Extra Or Degorgement Tardif BdN and Terre d'Illite Extra Brut BdN are much more complex and compelling. Drink this l'Or d'Eugene now and over the next handful of years.

January 17, 2021 - Disgorged 5/22/2019. Big, toasty, fruit-filled nose. There are copious amounts of lemon-scented pear preserves as well as quince. Full-bodied and quite rich, this is all about sweet, ripe fruit. Only 4 grams of dosage, but the fruit is SO ripe, you'll never miss it! Wow, red apple skin and precision acidity make for a complete package. For all the richness and red fruits, there's still a saline minerality to the finish. I'd love to taste a 10 year old bottle of this. 93+

December 26, 2020 - Smooth with tiny bubbles. Cantaloupe and honeydew flavor. Great value here.

October 25, 2020 - Very good, very interesting. It was quite strongly flavored, and I have to say it wasn't quite to my taste. Maybe I needed a better food pairing.

October 3, 2020 - The nose reveals; bruised red, golden & hints green apple, pear, dried pineapple, coconut shavings, cream, pie crust, vanillin, touch yeastiness, sea spray, fine chalkiness, limestone, volcanics, soft white spice, camomile, spring flowers & jasmine.

Mousse is in the name for a reason. The mouthfeel is the first thing that grabs you. Cotton mousse presence. The body is full. Bruised red, golden & hints green apple, pear. dried pineapple, coconut shaving, cream, pie crust, graham crackers, vanillin, touch yeastiness, sea spray, fine chalkiness, limestone, volcanics, strong sense of heat & bite on the white spice, camomile, spring flowers & jasmine. The acidity is round, crisp & lively. The finish is smartly polished;rich, lush, nicely knitted & balanced and long sets in endless grippy minerality & spice.

This will benefit from another 2-5 years in bottle.
