Lovely density and richness on the nose, spiced red berries, warmth from the wood, vinous rather than detailed or precise, good depth; satiny texture, quite weighty for a Frühburgunder, supple; slightly hot and resinous on the finish. A substantial and serious wine, satisfying but lacks some finesse. A restaurant Waldkater, Rinteln, Germany.

April 30, 2014 - Two bottles at restaurant "Hohenhaus", late Apr and early May 2014: rubin red color; typical Pinot Noir aromas and flavors; red fruits; flowers; medium body; wiry texture.
Both bottles tasted identical.
