December 9, 2023 - Medium ruby color, bright and clear. Highly aromatic, with aromas of fig & persimmon, along with secondary sandalwood, star anise, white mushrooms, hibiscus and sage. Ripe, sumptuous red fruit on the palate, showing braised fig and date notes over a dense core of rich clove, sandalwood, damp earth and oolong tea. Medium bodied with smooth, rounded edges, well-integrated acidity, and medium fine-grained tannins, finishing medium-long with rich red fruit and oak spices.

November 19, 2023 - 2015 remains my favorite vintage of this wine (after tasting alongside the 2013 & 2014. More recent vintages remain untouched for now). We paired with a very good mushroom risotto.

In the glass, this was the darkest and clearest of the 3, and clarity is a good word to describe this wine in all aspects.

Some minerality (my sister, who is a labor and delivery nurse, says “activated diaper” but not in a gross way).
Orange peel, Asian pear, honeysuckle, red fruits.
    Asian spices or sassafras.

Love this wine. Look forward to tasting again.

July 16, 2023 - PNP. Reticent upon opening, but after 30 minutes some bing cherry appeared on nose, low tanins, forest floor, medicinal, thin

November 27, 2020 - Deep ruby color. Primary and secondary expression on the nose - red cherries, clove, tea leaf, hibiscus and autumn foliage; carrying through on the palate in layered depth adding just a hint of sandalwood and minerals. On the attack this is cool-toned and expressive, but not quite wide-open, with compact fleshy density in the middle. Medium well-rounded acidity to the structure, with thick grainy medium tannins, finishing with dry fruit-driven depth and moderate length. Needs 3 to 5 more years, 91+
