May 21, 2022 - My last bottle…double decanted for 2 hours and tasted over another several hours at a friend’s house.Nice depth and complexity. Nose is floral, earthy and savory. Palate shows lots of spice, mushroom and dark red fruit. Great texture and depth. Excellent with broiled ribs. Nice depth and complexity. Lots of mushroom (porcini) and spices and rich cherry notes. Enjoyable!

January 16, 2021 - Decanted at 4:30pm and tasted over 5 hours. Translucent medium garnet color with little to no bricking. Very youthful in appearance. Wow what a nose...such distinct truffle its crazy. Stylistically there is little noticeable oak influence surprisingly (given the early notes from the pros which noted the new oak from 3 years elevate in barrique...now seems totally integrated), pretty much classic Nebbiolo characteristics with the truffle, roses, cherry and earthy anise on the finish which is quite long and satisfying. Superb, mature but showing no sign of fatigue. Supremely balanced and enjoyable with sous vide and pan seared NY strip. Delicious, soulful Barolo.

May 16, 2020 - Dark ruby with a brown brick edge. Not much fruit on the nose, mostly prunes, black tea, earth and leather. Tannins largely resolved but still with a backbone of acidity. Looks like the start of a decline, but not bad for a 20 year old wine from a warmer vintage.

May 30, 2019 - Red ruby with slight bricking. Lovely aromas of reddish black cherries, licorice, tobacco and spice. Palate continues to show good depth to the spicy ripe red fruits, new saddle leather, medium acidity, melting tannins and a long tobacco inflected finish.
