February 17, 2022 - full of red berries, very intense with good structure; great finish; probably on its peak now

February 10, 2021 - still in good shape; good fruit, nice finish

December 24, 2019 - very dark red; powerful on the palate; heavy fruit and balanced sweetness; drinks very well but could still improve

May 16, 2018 - Dark brooding fruit with anise, blackberry and sweet cedar and vanilla on the nose. Similar replays on the palate. This is Unmistakeably Australian but it still shows a depth and level of sophistication not often found in Australian wines in this price category. Give this a couple years to flesh out and it may even earn higher points. Medium finish. 91

    May 2, 2017 - Decanted prior to drinking for about 1 - 1.5 hours.

Nose and colour are good, and as one would expect from a young McLarevn Vale shiraz. A very promising start. However, that's the best part of this review.

On the palate, the fruits are dark and very tart, with very bitter, almost overbearing tannins. The finish is relatively short, but with a tacky and overwhelmingly bitter finish.
