Community Tasting Notes 5

March 31, 2022 - Garnet with orange notes. Tart cherry flavors, lots of acidity and tannins. I like this better the last bottle

February 3, 2022 - Dark in color with some orange notes. Viscous. Nose of spice, oak, rose and earth. Black fruit but lots of tannins masking flavors.

  • Woodford Likes this wine: 93 points

    February 13, 2021 - At the open:
Smells of sweet dust and candied dirt
Tastes of pointed raspberry fruit, a touch of raisin, earth, and with barrel texture/grit

    After 1 hour:
Smells of graphite and hidden concentrated dark red fruit
Tastes of lively cherry fruit + raspberry over expected background earth.

    Full bodied

This wine is very approachable and dynamic with confident convincing fruit. “Fun” and satisfying Nebbiolo.

February 16, 2020 - Red fruits and alcohol dominate the nose and palate. Very powerful wine for a Barolo from La Morra. No nuance or complexity that I would expect from this outstanding Cru. One dimensional and disappointing.

January 2, 2018 - Big, bold wine. On the nose there's dark, black fruits, anise and earthy, leathery notes. The finish is long with ample tannins to age. Although young, it is approachable now but should evolve very nicely over the next 5-10 years.
