December 24, 2020 - P4h. Medium light garnet red, yellow tinged, 4.5. Generous bouquet of spicy sweet cask stuff, dried roses, plums. Well balanced on the palate, mT, mA, elegant dry finish. Drink now-onwards

May 22, 2020 - Must be at the simpler end of the spectrum as far as 20+ year old Barbaresco riservas go. Still, quite nice. Tannins are there, as always in nebbiolo, but not overly zeisty. Initially some surprising fruit even, which disappears in minutes. Toffee, as others already said. And something black pepperish. By no means over the hill, based on just one sampling. Of course, no idea what this was like in its youth.

April 16, 2020 - Decanted ca 1/2 hour. Cork was in good shape. Subtle nose of tar and toffee aromas. Medium to full bodied, rather supple with gentle tannic bite, showing licorice/tar and slightly toffee with the fruit initially a bit faded and some alcoholic sting (14,5%) on the finish. With more airtime it improved big time. Overall very good and still in a nice spot.

December 25, 2019 - Lively Barbaresco in 20 years of age. For my taste, oak is integrated and balanced with fruit. Nice liquorice notes. The wine is ready to drink now.

December 14, 2019 - No formal notes. Over the hill. Not much fruit, but remains of oak. Some sous-bois and toffee. Bitterish.
