Community Tasting Notes 3

September 20, 2019 - Wine from the indigenous Prie Blanc grape, this is some racy, pure juice. Grapefruit, apricots, mint and rocks on the nose. With its mountain stream cleanliness and wonderful mineral cut and lemon rind in the mouth, it still has soft mouth feel. From Italy on the border with France. Vineyards are reportedly surrounded by rocky walls which protect the vines from snow and cold and also release extra heat absorbed in the hot summer days. From the highest vineyards in Europe, these vines are among very few anywhere in Europe that are on original and ungrafted, pre-phylloxera rootstock.

July 1, 2017 - High altitude (1200 meters) bright acidity & minerality delivered with power. Lovely citrus notes. First time trying Ermes Pavese. Thrilled! Went well with pork loin in a sauce using some of the wine.

November 8, 2016 - Darn I love this wine, and out of magnum it was particularly outstanding. INterestingly enough, served right alongside theLe Sette Scalinate and this was preferred by every taster. Although it was admitted that the Le Sette Scalinate needed time in the bottle to fully develop.
