November 8, 2016 - What a fantastic bottle of wine from some very close friends who are acquaintances of Willis and Joyce Johnson! This bottle of estate Cabernet Sauvignon is from Suisun Valley, which is just east of Napa and is grown on an 80 acre vineyard under the label Villa de Madre. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson bottle this wine to give away as gifts to their family and friends and this 2010 vintage did not disappoint.
COLOR: dark red with the slightest hint of purple with sediment noted indicating it was minimally filtered
NOSE: initial whiff was closed but opened up throughout the evening. Cherries, red currant, leather
TASTE: fruity up front and well balanced
