  May 3, 2023 - Still performing at a high level. Nose needs some time open but still somewhat subdued with Cherry and vanilla. Rim beginning to brick slightly. Smooth entry with solid, fresh black fruit and cherry with spice and menthol. Tannins and oak sooooo smooth. Finishes without heat. Drink now and perhaps for another two years.

  October 26, 2022 - Very pleasant but I agree with those who find it a bit thin. I detect almost no tannin if the wine is at about 68 degrees. Nicely bright but very soft.

  September 30, 2022 - Perfumed nose. Graphite. Raspberry. Cream. Very well intergrated abv at 14.9%. Drinking well jow. Opened 1 hour prior to consumption.

  March 15, 2022 - Wow, this is a powerful wine. Lovely floral aromas. Dark nearly black in the glass. Dark fruit flavors with a hint of graphite. Tannins are grippy and acidity is bright. Medium plus to long finish on this one. Peaking now. Drink within next few years. Fantastic.

  December 19, 2021 - Has thinned down a tad over the years but also integrated a little better, too. More red-fruited on the palate now, with a chaser of cedar/oak....still decent acidic backbone, bordered on a 92 but not quite. Opened and used half the bottle to make a wonderful batch of short ribs. The best Carol has ever made (I know I said that last time but this batch was even better) and then slow ox'd the rest of the bottle over 4 hours. Some elements improved like the wood lessening, but the fruit didn't improve any further, still somewhat thin. Would be a very nice daily drinker for most.
