February 18, 2023 - So crunchy and fresh, a tad bit of volatility but it serves as a freshener. No fault discernible. Typical savoury notes of olives and meat, and dark fruit, currant and black cherry maybe. Did not really take notes to be honest. This just goes down so well with a steak dinner.

August 10, 2020 - I enjoy a good D&R - very pretty raspberry fruit, earth, complexity from day 1 - but they tend to skew just a little too unclean for my tastes and they don't seem to hold up in bottle very well. In fairness to D&R, I think they acknowledge that their wines, particularly their reds aren't really meant for long term aging. Still, the 2009 En Champs we started the night with was a complete disaster. This 2015 was better (it was drinkable, something the 2009 was not), but the little bit that was left over was toast by the next evening. As the price on these rockets upwards, I'm not sure I'll be buying them again outside of France, and I definitely wouldn't cellar them.

June 27, 2020 - Vibrant fruit, almost neon in intensity, accented by the classic Dard sprinkle of pickle, herbs, and a little VA. Much more calm, savory, and mineral the second evening open, when it might have been mistaken for a more traditional St. Joseph. Not the type of vintage I usually go for, but delicious.

June 11, 2020 - About 2 hours of air. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Thin legs.
Nose is not clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of natural funk, whole bunch green stems, dark red cherries, black cherries, black olives, bandung rose syrup with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidty, medium- alcohol (12.5%), gritty medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of savoury tanned leather, prickly brambles, white pepper spice, black olives, black cherries, dark red cherries. Sickly syrupy bandung. Medium+ finish.
Least liked of my Dard et Ribo experiences so far. Didn't enjoy the texture and Bandung feels of this wine. Drink up. -

March 27, 2020 - Dark brambles, salty olives, cherry kernel, earth. Not very complex, more in a juicy style - but not super quaffable either, too much structure for that. Don’t get me wrong - I really like this wine. Very good food wine. Drank over two nights, equally good on both. I think this can be cellared for several years more but I’m unsure of whether it would improve, could very well be on top of a plateau.
