October 11, 2012 - Agree with Padraig! Ready to drink although went a little flat in the decanter after a few hours.

August 8, 2012 - Another surprise from the depths of my cellar was this 24 year old Carmenet Cab. I found it and didn't expect much at all. I opened it for my wife's spaghetti sauce and saw that the color was good and the cork perfect. I filtered it, gave a 1/2 cup to the sauce, then put it back into the bottle and let it sit exposed for about 8 hours. We drank it with the pasta and it was really good .... much better than expected. Color was near glass staining, nose opened up to rich and fruity berries. Nice 30 second finish. I don't have much Carmenet, but I'll look more closely now that I've tried this one.
