Community Tasting Notes 5

October 5, 2023 - Visits in the Wachau and Kamptal; 10/4/2023-10/5/2023 (In and around the Wachau and Kamptal, Lower Austria): The nose is so aromatic, balanced, and intriguing with meyer lemons, red apples, quince, spiced pears, a bit of petrol, yellow flowers, apricots, and some mineral notes. There is excellent depth and refinement with this showing off where the fruit can go after a few years of aging. The Medium bodied feel is textured and balanced with crisp, high acidity that is showing excellent integration. This is flat out lovely and in a beautiful spot. The tones have rounded out a bit while taking on a slightly darker take from the younger rieslings. There is plenty of life left in this, but it is also a real joy to drink right now.

November 24, 2022 - Truly a lovely Riesling. At 7 years of age,’ petrol notes have developed, along with yellow fruits on the palate, and a lingering mineral finish. The acidity is less than German Riesling, but just perfect with Thanksgiving dinner

July 1, 2020 - Greenish yellow color. Notes of smoke, minerality, some ripe exotic fruit, also some steely notes, a touch of petrol and peach, as well as some orange zest. It‘s medium-full bodied, with good medium+ acidity, a touch of phenolic bitterness and very good mid-palate persistence. Long finish with plenty of complexity and tension. This is really lovely.

    April 3, 2020 - Strohgelb.
Schüchtern in der Nase mit Noten von Birne, Grapefruit, nassem Stein und Kräutern.
Im Mund merkwürdig weich. Die Säure ist da, aber ... Hat der Wein nen BSA gemacht?
    Im Abgang mittellang.

February 5, 2020 - PnP. Metallic yellow. Wonderful complex mineral driven bouquet, slate, ripe yellow fruits. Harmonious dry palate, good acidity, long finish. Drink now or wait for more mature stuff. It will keep evolving for years to come.
