It looks pale in the bottle, but in the glass, it's an extremely pale lemon straw with a slight green tinge.
As you pour it, there's a bit of unctuous weight apparent.
Light, bright, fresh nose with white flowers and a light honey. Nothing complex or intriguing, but then for just £14.99 you probably wouldn't expect Yquem.
Bright and fresh initially on the palate. Then there's a pleasing creamy sweetness. Honey and tropical fruits on the palate, with a hint of sulphured dried apricot right on the finish. Nicely precise and clean. It certainly has a charm, a charm that's growing on me.
I don't think, however, that I would guess that this was a 5 puttonyos wine: it lacks the weight and depth for that.
Goes very nicely with some lebkuchen.
