Community Tasting Notes 1

December 23, 2017 - Popped and poured, medium-light ruby. Initially refrained, the nose opens up after a quick 10-15 minutes of aeration to show cherry fruits, blood orange, florals, autumnal foliage and an impression of saline minerals. Medium-light body, quenching acidity. On the palate, there's a delightful core of red fruits that are complimented by earthy, iron-mineral notes. Reveals its roots in Beaune with somewhat rustic tannins, which show a bit of chalky astringency through the moderate close.
Perhaps lacking a bit in the mid-palate...but for $16, who cares? And although those with a Cali-centric palate might not be appeased, this is very nice Pinot that has more than enough structure to perfectly accompany a meal.
