December 26, 2022 - Boxing Day wines at Domaine: A tad bit dirty and funky so the Vosne fruit struggled to shine on the nose. Better purity on the palate. Just ok.

January 26, 2020 - (Mostly) Burgundy Dinner with Friends (Republique - Los Angeles CA): Served double blind. Came across clearly as great Grand Cru Burgundy from a ripe vintage. Complex combination of red and black cherry with earth, mushroom and savory spice. Elegant and powerful at the same time, with a long, expanding, umami finish. I thought it from Gevrey (Ruchottes or Griotte) 1989. Absolutely fantastic, this was the clear Wine of the Night.

December 31, 2018 - Supremely elegant nose, clean and pretty with just the right hint of smoky meaty notes and a touch of a soapy aroma. A classic Richebourg, in an elegant style.

  • DAN BAILEY Likes this wine:

February 20, 2017 - Classic, Grivot. Young, serious, rich, precise red/black fruits. Made you come to it rather than offering its charms easily. Just as captivating as the rousseau chambertin but in a completely different, more aloof, reserved manner. A wine to sit and contemplate for hours.
