Community Tasting Notes 10

  • Claret & CdP Gang Likes this wine:

January 24, 2023 - Powerful, very nice, full of pleasure but will improve with time

January 17, 2022 - Second bottle from a half case purchased at auction in 2010. Pristine condition, perfect cork. An old-fashioned Burgundy that requires a lot of patience. Powerful, concentrated and structured without any excess of weight or extraction, dusty tannins and refreshing acidity, lively and vibrant, bright fruit, warmth and texture from the oak, excellent length. Very early maturity, great drive and energy, probably best between 2029 and 2049. If this continues to develop well, it should have 94-95 point potential.

May 20, 2017 - Tasted blind. Spicy, rustic. A bit "cloudy"...

May 20, 2017 - A private tasting (Restaurant De Ertepeller, Papendrecht. NL): Tasted blind. A broad and masculine style, clearly old vines, slightly dusty, spice box, somewhat rustic tannins, good ripe fruit, more power than finesse, hints of demi-glace and truffle, very good length.

  • Milos Does not like this wine: 88 points

March 21, 2017 - Deep dark red. Not particularly open, dark red fruit and oak on the nose. The dry sharp tannins dominate the palate and not sure if this wine will ever reach balance and pull together. Decent length.

(Faiveley Clos Vougeot) Oaky, strawberry, roses nose; dry, oaky, tart cherry palate, though fruit is dropping out; medium finish
