January 15, 2023 - Stunning bottle. Utterly head spinning fruit that keeps going and going. Delicate light body and exquisite nose of dusty violets, sweet and sour black fruit and a kiss of cocoa. A birth year wine and a real treat!

December 20, 2021 - Good shit dinner: Needed some time in the decanter to blow off the funk. Very sweet and ripe fruit for its age so most of us thought Tuscan and guessed it was from the 80s for this. A pleasure to taste a wine this old, remarkably long finish.

December 20, 2021 - What an amazing wine! We all said less than 30 years of age. This is truly drinking at peak at over 50 years of age. This is the majestic beauty of old Riojas. Only detracting factor for me was the nose never got anywhere close to the palate but its length, de-lineation, and weight are mind-blowing for a wine of any age. This is the best La Rioja Alta of my life!

April 7, 2018 - Acker Auction - April 2018 (Marea in NYC): Opened for a few hours in the bottle, but no decant. A bit strong at first but it calmed down some in the glass. Classic tomato paste. A bit of an aftertaste that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

December 31, 2014 - Given a good decant and really improved after a couple of hours. Sedate fruit but good acidity and plenty long - nothing ages these old school Riojas
