December 11, 2023 - Warm and red fruited, fully mature and on a long plateau. Fine grained tannins but a little high pitched. I thought it was very good but perhaps not worthy of the current market price

December 8, 2023 - Terrific mature barbaresco. Quite elegant, with an expressive tar and tobacco quality on the nose. Fruit is mostly tertiary at this this point with a dried character to the fruit. After a few hours air got a little tinny and metallic on the finish (may have been a little sediment).

May 19, 2016 - 20+ Year Old Nebbiolo Dinner (Osteria Langhe): Full, rich nose has a certain 'yum' factor with youthful ripe black cherry, spice and stemmy herbs. Palate is concentrated with black cherry. Tannins are still quite gritty, though the fruit does a good job of masking their bite. Still quite un-evolved. I would guess this has upside from here. Tough side-by-side comparison with a sensational Roagna Barbaresco Crichët Pajé.

February 15, 2016 - A nice elegant Barbaresco. Initially a whiff of oxidation in the nose but this became better and opened up to a nose of cherries, plum, herbs. On the palate sweet, smoke, earth, ripe plums.
