December 11, 2023 - Dark ruby red in the glass. Aromatics of berries, black cherry and forest floor - but much more subdued and insipid. Flavors of mostly black cherry. Mouth filing and silky on the palate and finish. Nothing offensive about this, but nothing remarkable either. Good mid-week quaff, but not one to impress the neighbors.

October 18, 2023 - Pop and pour with friends, bottle consumed over a few hours. Notes consistent with previous bottle from last year. Medium dark ruby leaning towards an inky purple, the 2015 Gap’s Crown opens with a nose of dark berries, red currant, wild mushroom, and a pronounced earthiness. Still full bodied and structured but with silkier, more integrated tannins, the palate continues to build with savory notes of herbs and a firm backbone of fruit and lively acidity. The finish is medium length and multi-layered.

September 4, 2023 - Seemed overly ripe and pruny. Hoping this isn’t what it’s supposed to be.

July 16, 2022 - PnP and drunk over a few hours. Medium ruby leaning towards purple, the 2015 Gap’s Crown opens with a nose of dark berries, red currant, wild mushroom, and a pronounced earthiness. Full bodied and structured with tight grained tannins, the palate continues to build with savory notes of herbs and a firm backbone of fruit and lively acidity. The finish is medium length and multi-layered.
