September 20, 2020 - Very nice, typical Fleury. Big, bold, eucalyptus, red fruit, cedar, a little burn but not too bad. Well served by air, had with and without food, both great. Makes me feel like I am in the tent with Vince cracking jokes.

March 25, 2020 - Very polished on the outside; sweet and chrome like with oak, with just a small more interesting core of pits, agar, and menthol. Strong enough to peel paint.

December 12, 2019 - Wow, this is pretty damned good. Opened and decanted for 90 minutes (May have been better with more time). A typical Big Napa Rutherford Cab! Huge from the get go. Strong aroma with lots of dark fruit. Taste is big, huge (there’s that word again) actually. Lots of dark fruit, plum, oak, pencil lead, spice and vanilla. Big, but balanced, with great mouthfeel, complexity and texture. Medium acidity and strong, but fairly smooth, tannins. Lovely surprise and this has many more years of aging ahead of it.

Paired this with a Prime Filet from Costco, smoked with oak wood and fresh rosemary (don’t turn your nose down to Costco's Prime Steaks until you’ve tried them. Bus seriously, try their Prime Tomahawks!!!).

Bummer I only have one bottle left. Like I said, this still has Years Ahead of it!

November 8, 2019 - From the photos and notes, people are reviewing two different bottlings here. This review is for the incredible Fleury Estate Rutherford Cabernet, which comes with raised lettering directly on the glass of the bottle and no label. "Rutherford" at the bottom in Small Caps above the words "Napa Valley" Very simple front.

In any case, this at $125 is imo better than the similarly branded/bottled 2014 Howell Mountain at $225. Both do a wonderful job of letting the natural and distinctive fruit shine through. A hallmark of this winery. the Rutherford is then immediately appealing, silky, and spicy! Great fruit, great juice.

September 13, 2019 - Gobs of dark berry fruit with tar and spice. This beast needs at least a few years aging to tame down. But it's sure a fun wine to drink right now! Would make a perfect accompaniment to any grilled meats.
