August 26, 2020 - 11 years after previous tasting note - an Amarone which is now 19 years old, which is quite a lot for wines from this region. We popped and poured, which was ok. The wine is still very dark purple, has a great nose and a nice palate with cherries, plum, chocolate and herbs. Overall a slightly tired impression, time to drink up.

June 14, 2009 - very nice amarone, not to sweet, lush and rich, nice to drink a bottle that was fresh, we have been culling the oldiesfrom the cellar and have been dissapointed a few times.

December 28, 2007 - I really like this stuff. This is red wine on steroids, both the cream and the clear. Powerful and delicious. deep, deep red color, almost black. Need more.

October 3, 2007 - Purplish color. High toned floral and spice nose wrapped around a core of blackberry, tart cherry, liquorice, and smoke. Less of the typical chocolate and tobacco notes than most amarones. Palate is smooth and heavy, but lifted by good acidity, followed by gripping and persistant tannins. A touch of alcoholic heat is noted on the finish. Definitely a newer wave of amarone, with impressions of lift and freshness; no traces of raisined fruit here.... May benefit from age. An excellent QPR.

August 21, 2006 - intensity is the best way to describe this wine. So much power and fruit. Great buy for 35 bucks! You have to be in the mood and love the driest wines to enjoy this.
