July 2, 2020 - Sandalwood, light plum and soil tone. Still some fruit left but over the peak.

August 16, 2015 - Nose: Beautiful perfume of red cherry, sandalwood, sweet berries, a bit of stems and a leathery/tobacco note. Palate: Clearly a warm vintage as the fruit was still somewhat sappy at 39 years old. Gorgeous sweet cherry, raspberry, silky vanilla and smoke notes as well. A bit of animal, and mushroom funk as well. Slight brown/cooked element in the back palate showing raisin and madiera. Finish: Long and lingering with nice balance and acidity.

This bottle was very generously shared by a friend that inherited a few bottles from his fathers cellar. This bottle of Trapet was especially cherished as it is from the year of his parents wedding. A tremendous experience. Thank you CvdL!

October 28, 2011 - Leaving DC Dinner (Ripple - Cleveland Park, Washington, D.C.): This was over-the-hill, but fun to try. Coming from a hot vintage in Burgundy this had raisin tones (didn't seem defective) with florals and plums.
