Community Tasting Notes 10

September 13, 2023 - Slightly faded damask red.
Nose: liquorice, bramble, spice (mace/clove), old sutcase leather.
Medium bodied (for a Vacqueyras) still tannic, spicy, dry black fruit, fairly alcoholic.
A pleasant example of a Vacqueyras, but perhaps needing drinking at about 5 years.

May 18, 2023 - Nose: fruity bilberry, damask rose and bayleaf. In the mouth: medium bodied, not as fruity as expected.

September 21, 2021 - A bottle where the nose outweighs the palate for enjoyment, with dark fruit standing out. The palate has some tannic structure but could have used a tad more, it comes across as slightly sweet and borderline flat.

October 13, 2019 - Well put together, but lacks a bit of balance. Better for the money out there.

N: Sweet, almost confected red and black fruits, but sour like blackcurrant wine gums. Very boozy (the crux of the wine), scorched underbrush and crumbling sandstone earthiness.

Pal: Full, sweet and sour confected red fruit continue, evident new oak brings a little spice and creamy texture butts with the medium tannin and acid. Retains a little restrain, not just a brute.

F: Dried blackberries and a nice stemmy, dead leafy herbaceousness
