December 11, 2023 - Really delightful, if a little lacking compared to a better vintage. Great balance of primary and secondary notes, it will last a few more years but I think it might be near or at its peak now. Black fruit, cedar, dust, mint, and some leather and tobacco. The nose is particularly enticing, the palate also good but a touch less so. Medium body, tannins seem pretty resolved at this point. At its best maybe 90 minutes into a decant.

August 5, 2023 - I cleaned out the wine and traveled. Mild sediment. Good nose from the start. The palate was balanced when I started drinking the wine 45 minutes later. Integrated oak and fruit ,and tanin almost gone. Medium to full body. It improved over an hour to a complex pichon that is just short of the best vintages. This will hold for 3-5 years. Enjoy now IMO.
