mouth -plentiful rich fruit, earthy, nice balance. a bit square shouldered overall and lacks the lushness and mouthfeel of some of his higher end Vosne cuvees (what a difference a few kilometers makes). Good but unless you're getting a deal its unlikely worth the price of admission.
February 13, 2024 - Popped and poured. Still very youthful, cherry, ripe strawberry fruits, orange peel, deep roses, some traces of iron/minerals and very well managed luxurious oak. A big one that is not overdone, drinking really well in all that classic Cathiard glory. A real delight.

Ikke en kant i sikte.
Høy konsentrasjon med akkurat nok friskhet til å bære det hele.
Dette er digg.
Flotte former helt ut i finish.
Sitter lenge med fine tanniner. 93-94p
Edit - den vokser og vokser i glasset.
Parfymen i siste slump er helt magisk.
Både på duft og smak kommer detaljene enda bedre frem. 94+
May 1, 2022 - Light ruby in appearance with purple hues. Nose presents typical red fruits notes, violet, sweet spices (nutmeg, cinnamon), wood, mushroom, forest floor. On the palate, good minerality and earthiness with flavors that are substantially less pronounced than the aromas. Medium+ body, very well balanced and integrated, fine chewy tannins, an elegant wine. Finish is medium+. Drinks very well already and it has years of aging potential. Overall, an excellent wine (93).
April 11, 2020 - My first SC bottle ever, what a great perfumed smell, the awakening spring, juicy brambleberry, violets etc.,
initially rich, deep, fine and expressive, so well balanced that young with ripe tannin, a revelation, maybe it is the very open and simultaneously deep and very Bourgogne style which makes a lot of bottles from this vintage so delicious in their prime, but this SC bottle is even more impressive, bilberry, wild forest strawberry, the core with minerals, graphite, lingering finish, an extraordinary showing today, this great Bourgogne bottle is true happiness, ***(*-*****), around 93,94(+)
May 4, 2018 - Mørk og floral i en elegant innpakning. Lilla blomster, lavendel, pepper. Ellers litt aromatisk lukket, flat og endimensjonal. Stram og syrlig i munn, ung, lilla, syrlig frukt. Uforløst vin med lovende potensiale. Vent 5 år.
January 12, 2017 - Pearl of Burgundy 2015 Tasting (Hong Kong): No detail notes. For a NSG this was surprising ready to drink without the harsh tannins.

January 11, 2017 - Burgundy 2015 en primeur (London): More power, deeper and denser fruit nose with rose petal hints to add on. Very nice balance even though on the more powerful, more concentrated style. Could even drink now. 92-93p
January 9, 2017 - Tasted after the V-R villages. Also quite expressive and open, but with considerably more depth and weight. Very complex nose - fine fruit, smoke, earth, floral notes and spices. On the palate again quite fruit driven, but with a great mineral frame, round tannins and super persistence. Excellent. 93-94+
