  December 6, 2017 - Another wine from the Vino Volo in Detroit airport. This one I started skeptical on (the Airfield from Washington was so easy and approachable and seemed to work for a partial glass pour). This was a bit more hardcore fruit and then a kindof weird spice flavor that I wasn't totally sure about. A few more sips though and I'm coming around to at least all right even if still not as good (or as good of a value) as the first one in the flight. There's a sticky-sweetness at first and then it's almost like grass which just doesn't quite fit with the fruit.

  April 30, 2017 - Lots of pyrazine on the nose (bell pepper). Some is expected, but it was too much. Good structure, mid finish. Expected more.

  January 31, 2017 - Poured in the decanter, stared drinking immediately. Aged slightly in colour for a 2013, definite shift from purple towards ruby and dulling a little, no vibrancy. Given I don't drink many SA wines, I will say that this reminds me of a very basic entry level Coonawarra cab. Minty, eucalypt, cigar box, quite stereotypical really. A little savoury, drying and probably a short of medium finish. Drink in the next few years, say by 2021. Was hoping for more.
