September 28, 2018 - Single piece cork, no seepage
Decanted and tasted over 3h
Served at cellar temp.
Very bold oak treatment is at the fore upon opening. Roasted mocha coffee, smoke or bitumen ...worrisome.
This blows off over the course of 60minutes.
The fruit and secondary character are introduced over the second hour. Still no magic. Regrettably, the wine really picked in the last hour and went from modern nondescript Tempranillo to a rather fine and polished wine. At this point we only had a glass left and it was really shining.
There is no rush to drink this but it is just entering a mature stage. Recommend to open and decant 100 minutes ahead of first pour.
