February 21, 2024 - Cote Rotie in a Burgundian way…. Lots of finesse, long finish. Lots of good notes on this - I agree with most- a little smoke, dark berries with great balance. Powerful in a lighter way…. L

October 20, 2023 - Colour: dark purple, almost black; slightly cloudy (the wine was not filtered).

Nose: great scent of dark berries, mainly blackberry; quite a lot of pepper; fine leather notes with a little smoke; mint at the end; you always want to just smell it; on the second day the scent is a little more restrained.

Palate: Very dense and mouth-filling; tightly woven fine-grained, ripe tannins dominate the scene (for me typical for the 2015 vintage on the northern Rhone), yet very silky; then again a cornucopia of dark berries; on the second day, I also tasted the fine cherry note, which had otherwise always been quite noticeable in earlier vintages of the wine; I noticed a hint of bitter chocolate on the palate; medium, ripe acidity; long, harmonious finish with an interplay of tannins, cherry and acidity; the alcohol is moderate (13%) despite the warm year.

Despite its slightly rustic character, this is a very nice Côte-Rôtie at the beginning of its drinking maturity. It will keep for many years to come.

June 22, 2023 - Still young. Needs to rest more. Strong red fruit, very firm. Nose was tepid.

May 14, 2023 - Pop and pour yesterday, at which point it was absolutely stunning. Notes from 24 hrs open. On the nose: soft cola, olive brine, wet stone, a touch of game, cool sandalwood. Absolutely spectacular aromatics. On the palate: fantastic acidity, tomato leaf, olive, black raspberry, lovely density with very finely grained tannin on the juicy finish. This is spectacular.

May 13, 2023 - Nose is dark and minerally. Smoky. Meaty and savory. Very good. The Gerard was a bit more perfumed and exciting but this was better balanced
