April 13, 2024 - On opening this wine screams old poop french rusticity and is enjoyed by people like me who are into that sort of thing. After about 2 hours in bottle after opening this gradually has evolved into a delicious drink with more wide appeal even among new world drinkers but maintains a distinctive sanguine and garrigue edge. Pretty excellent. Doubt it will improve but I would think this will hold for another few years. Consistent with when I had it a year ago.

March 3, 2024 - Tasted alongside the Chave Hermitage 2014. Not fair but did well in the loss. At its peak I guess. Same concentration as the Hermitage without the super finesse of the other. Still excellent.

February 4, 2024 - Just six months made a pretty big difference, I guess. This is still burly, with significant tannins, but it's coming out of this shell. Gaining depth, with black-fruited notes, meaty nuances, some nice savory notes. This is still a bruiser, which is, in many ways, consistent with Cornas, known for being the most rustic of the N. Rhone wines. Wife really liked it this time. Had it with beef strips (the ranch we buy from called it "fajita meat") dressed in a vaguely Korean marinade, sauteed sliced brussel sprouts, over rice. Syrah is the only wine with so much tannin that I trust with spiced foods, and this worked amazingly.

December 21, 2023 - Enjoyable Cornas, touch modern for my style, but still a tasty wine.
