  November 24, 2023 - Mostly black fruit, restrained on the nose and palate. Tried first as a PNP, with a very restrained, tight effect and too tannic. Decanted and tried again at 1, 2 and 4 hours. Definitely better at 2 and maybe better at 4. With time the acidity and tannins felt more in balance with the fruit, which opened up a bit. Still nothing very enjoyable or memorable.

  November 14, 2023 - I didn’t want to like this. Since the Frey takeover I’ve been sceptical of the modern, polished style. However, although ripe and well made, I feel that given maybe 5 years or more this might actually start to show some complexity true to proper Rhône Syrah. Don’t get me wrong - it’s no ‘99, but my guard is dropping ..

  October 21, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours. Medium opaque dark red. At first a lot of fruit, some complexity, good grib. After 3 hours more mellow, fruit not as powerfull, still good fruit, dark berries, prunes. Medium to long finish. Very nice.

  October 15, 2023 - This did not meet my expectations... maybe they were too high_
  
  Bramberry/figs, meat (smoked?) with prunes and beetroot. Some menthol notes and garrique and rough tannins.
  Already showing tertiary notes which was a surprise leading to a slightly hollow mid-palate where this bottle does not warrant any further aging.
  
  It's not defective, just much further gone than expected... could it be mild heat damage?
  Next bottle will tell..
