  March 1, 2024 - Dichtes Rubinrot, keine Alterstöne. Feinduftig und nobel, mit Kräuterwürze, dunkler Beerenfrucht, deutlich Garrigue, steinige Noten, sehr komplex. Im Gaumen straff, konzentriert, sensationelle Frucht, unterlegt von markanten Tanninen und einer guten Säure, hier ist alles an seinem Platz, noch wild und jugendlich, jedoch mit hervorragenden Anlagen. Im Abgang zeigt dieser Wein eine ausgezeichnete Länge, viel Würze und ein salines Finish. Das ist ein ungemein präziser und mineralischer Wein, der in rund fünf Jahren seinen Genusspeak erreichen dürfte und sicherlich 15, wenn nicht sogar 25 Jahre Trinkspass bieten dürfte. 2028 bis 2042+ 97 vvPunkte

  December 25, 2023 - Opens quite dark, manly, closed but after a couple of hours starts showing more gentle sides. Extremely concentrated, certainly, there is pepper, dark spice, kirsch, olives. Better in ten years, certanly, but surprisingly playful tonight, both E&AD likes it - nothing left on X-Mas Day, alas. 96++

  November 14, 2023 - This was very good but a beast, massively structured and just too young. Great potential in 10-15 years. Rich potpouri, garrigue, licorice, stewed fruits, etc., huge tannins, almost NW-like, except the earthy character and tannins. Cotsens blind night

  May 21, 2023 - A pleasure to finally try this cuveé. The ripness and solar character of the vintage does shine through, but it’s as it should be here and retains balance despite the richness of the vintage. I found one source suggesting this is 60% Mourvèdre, 20%syrah and 20 grenache, which seems consistent with the cepage from other vintages.
  
  It’s dark in the glass but has shed some of the other features of youth. The wine is marked by its depth of fruit with fig paste, plum and blue and blackberry, rather than any abundance of oak or alcohol. It’s massive, yes, and should live a long time, but was no shame to open this evening.

  September 8, 2018 - Chateau Beaucastel, Hommage à Jacques Perrin vertical (Zurich): A clear winner, together with the 2009. Very young and primary aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, dark fruit and some leather. The structure is massive but the tannins are ripe and the acidity there to support it. Does not feel heavy since Alc. is 14.5%, on the low side for this Cru. Easy to see that this will be one of the great Hommages. 97-98
