October 16, 2022 - Double decanted back into bottle and followed over 4-5 hours. The nose on this is beautiful and just jumps from the glass from the get go. The palate balances fruit, acidity and integrated structure perfectly. Would have been interesting to try next to the Reynard or Chaillot to compare directly, but this sans soufre version seems to have a purity/vibrancy to it that is just a (perhaps small) notch above the "regular" bottlings (this was maybe even more pronounced with the 2011, which is the only other vintage of sans soufre I've had). Truly great wine. This bottle was quite youthful with seemingly years to go, but no regrets at all opening now.

April 20, 2021 - Dense, ripe and delicious! Better with a bit of air.

April 19, 2020 - Remote Tasting #3: Day 1 - served single-blind with Reynard '14. This wine was strangely more backwards and tannic. The color was slightly more brown at the rim and the Reynard was slightly more purple. Overall the wine was good, but showed more olive notes.

Day 2 - from the first pour it was EXPLOSIVE blue fruits and berries on the nose. YES YES YES! This is what I was expecting from Sans Soufre, an epic showing.

April 19, 2020 - Friday Night Wines: Initially this showed an intense dark fruit nose, with bloody meat, iron, and some gaminess. Same profiles carry to the palate with high acid, high oak and tannins. This wine was just densely packed of raw materials but seemingly need age to resolve and come together.
3 hours of air later, it flipped a switch. Nose became wildly aromatic, bright fruit, violets, and floral notes. Initially guessed as the Allemand Reynard, but turns out this was the SS. Great wine, although i do wonder if it's worth the extraordinary effort to hunt one down when the Reynard is just about equally as excellent.
